Udupi: Motor bike skid at Shirva- rider dies at hospital

Udupi, Sep 1: In a tragic incident which occurred near the Shirva mosque on Katapadi-Shirva-Belman main road on Tuesday August 30, the rider of a motor bike died after his vehicle skidded, resulting in grave injuries to his head.

The person who lost his life in the accident happened to be Raghavendra Bhat (63). Bhat lost his life in the accident. Bhat was a resident of Kodavoor near the city. He was returning after visiting Goddess Durgaparameshwari temple, Belman along with his wife in his motor bike, when the wheels of his two-wheeler skidded as he suddenly applied brakes near Shirva mosque. Bhat had suffered deep gash to the backside of his head and was immediately taken to a hospital in the city.

However, Bhat died the same night, without positively responding to treatments. His wife, who suffered injuries in this accident, continues to be treated at the hospital. A case about the accident was registered in Shirva police station.
