Mumbai: KCWA celebrates Monti fest with pomp

Mumbai, Sep 16: Monti fest was celebrated by Konkani Catholic Welfare Association (KCWA)  Bhayandar  on Sunday September 11 at Our Lady of Nazareth Church  Hall, Bhayandar  West, at 8.30 am. 

Celebration began with offering flowers near the decorative statue. Konkani mass was celebrated by Fr Anthony Banz, assistant priest of OLN Church, Bhayandar west on the occasion.  

Snacks and tea was served to the gathering. A variety of Konkani entertainment program was also held. It started with a welcome dance by Lenisha Pereira, followed by Konkani skits and songs. 

KCWA also felicitated students of Konkani speaking families who secured 85% and above in SSC examination in March 2016.

The function was compered by George Sequeira. Under the leadership of George Sequeira, president of KCWA, the celebration was a great success.

More than 200 people participated in the function.

At the end, the gathering enjoyed traditional ‘NovemJevoan’ and they left the venue recollecting sweet memories of their native place.
