Mumbai: Billavara Association holds indoor sports meet

Mumbai, Oct 5: The Yuvabhyudaya sub-committee of Billavara association here held an indoor sports competitions at Billava Bhavana on October 4. Competitions in carom, chess, table tennis, rangoli and drawing were held on the occasion. Young entrepreneur from Vashi, Pramod Karkera had arrived as chiefguest. Association vice president Dr U Dhananjay Kumar lit the traditional lamp and inaugurated the programme. Bharath Bank director Suryakanth J Suvarna and Malad local committee executive president Santhosh Poojary who were present as guests of honour set the carom competitions in motion. Local committee members participated in the competitions that lasted the whole day. Jaya Poojary and Harish Poojary conducted the competitions as judges.

The prize distribution ceremony held in the evening was presided over by association vice president Dr U Dhananjay Kumar. Bharath Bank director Gangadhar J Poojary, vice president Shanker D Poojary, honorary chief treasurer Mahesh C Poojary and other office bearers who were present as guests of honour handed over the prizes to the winners.

Yuvabhyudaya sub-committee executive vice president Nilesh Poojary Palimar welcomed everyone. Honorary chief secretary Dharmapal G Anchan compered the programme. Jayashree Kodi and Anusha Poojary read the list of winners. Ravi Sanil conducted carom, chess and table tennis competitions. Popular artist Jaya Poojary conducted drawing and rangoli competitions. Joint treasurer and Yuvabhyudaya sub committee member Sadashiva A Karkera proposed the vote of thanks.
