Mumbai: Auto, taxi unions threaten strike on November 10


Mumbai, Oct 14 (Midday News): As a sign of protest against cab aggregators such as Ola and Uber, taxi and autorickshaw unions have again threatened to go an a strike this time in November 10. According to a report by The Indian Express, they have been opposing services such as Ola and Uber since the past two years.

They want Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis to regulate services of app-based cabs and meet union members to discuss their demands.

The unions also want a government-based app-service for all taxis and auto rickshaws. A memorandum has been sent by them to all political parties and request the parties to clear their stand on the issue.
