Mangaluru,  Nov 2: Well-known Malayalam cine actor, singer, and Rajya Sabha member, Suresh Gopi, promised to take up the issue of political violence and murders taking place in Kerala with the chief minister (CM), Pinarayi Vijayan.

He said that he has already assured BJP national president, Amit Shah, that incidents of political vendetta in Kerala will be contained.

He was speaking after releasing Aahuti, a Kannada book on cruel deeds unleashed by communists in Kerala at a function organised by the city-based Citizens Council at Sangh Niketan here on Tuesday, November 1.

"Initially, I too was enticed by the lofty communist ideals of fighting against capitalists.  However, there is a yawning divide between the communist ideals and the way they actually behave. This has resulted in bloodshed," he stated.  He opined that in case of discussions and arguments, one should tackle them through counter arguments and discussions, and killing someone is not a solution. He regretted that fact that current  CM of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, in spite of being a good administrator, has failed to exercise control on political violence happening in his home district, Kannur.

He said that people driven by ideals cannot be silenced with attacks and murders. He cautioned the concerned that there is no dearth of people who are born fighters against cruelty.

Chakravarty Sulibele, leader of Yuva Brigade, criticised people from the country who are driven by communist ideals, of being blind followers of China. He said that the communists, who joined Congress when communists were banned in 1939, later split that party into two. He said that in several murders in Karnataka, role of Kerala-based people has been proven. He added that there is a need to effectively counter the mindset of eliminating people who have different political ideals.

Sadanandan Master from Kannur, speaking on the occasion, said that so far, 87 Rashritya Swayamsevak Sangh activists have been killed by communists, out of which about 60 were those who had migrated from CPM. He said that 40 Congressmen, seven members of Muslim League and a CPI activist were also killed, and there are many who have become destitute and handicapped because of physical attacks unleashed by communists.

Representatives of eight families which had become victims of political vendetta, had participated. President of city unit of Citizens Council, Sunil Acharya, welcomed the gathering.
