Mumbai: 'Matharo Chorbela' 73rd show staged in Naigaon

Mumbai, Dec 3: Vasai talents group, well known to the people of Vasai taluk presented their 73rd famous drama ‘Matharo Chorbela’, by Francis Fernandes, Cascia to a packed audience in the municipality auditorium here on November 27. People in Naigaon and nearby places came in large numbers for the drama.

Fr Francis SVD arrived as chief guest. Vasai Konkani Welfare association founder president Stephan Fernandes and former president Ancy Palladka were present as guests of honour.

Children from Vasai talents group presented a beautiful prayer dance and drew the audience towards spirituality. Vasai Konkani talents group president Vincent B D’Mello welcomed the gathering and introduced members of the talents group. He said that Vasai Konkani talents group has formed a platform for the hidden talents of the children.

Stephan Fernandes and Ancy Palladka draped a shawl around Francis Fernandes and wished him best of luck on his 73rd performance. Francis Fernandes said that some problems faced in families are portrayed in the drama in comedy form. Fr Francis gave good advice in his speech and wished the group success.

Children during the break danced to the song of late Wilfy Rebimbus and showcased their talents. Veronica thanked the group, sponsors and the audience. The packed audience showed that love for Konkani is alive in Naigaon.
