Mumbai: 74th show of Matharo Chorbela drama held in Pune

Mumbai, Dec 5: Mangalorean Catholic Association, Pune held its 21st anniversary celebrations at Nehru Memorial auditorium, Pune on Sunday evening December 4.

The guests and association president Ronald Sequeira felicitated evergreen actor of Konkani dramas, Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy awardee, comedy king Francis Fernandes, Cascia, drama director Joy Palladka and journalist Rons Bantwal. Francis Fernandes released the association's souvenir 'Ekvot' and said that art does not have limitation of age. “The support of art lovers keeps the artistes alive. Therefore, we are able to entertain you even in our ripe age. May the association who supports art and culture live long.”

Art achiever, founder of the association, Aloysius Saldanha (Luvi Urva) and community development respresentative Prescilla Brags were honored on the occasion. Similarly the past committee member Sabina A D'Souza and philanthropist Irene Rasquinha were presented flower bouquets, honored and congratulated on the occasion.

Fr Richard Mathais SVD, Fr Navin Rebello SVD, Fr Edwin Vas, asst. director communication Ishvani Kendra, Fr Abraham Dsouza Treasurer Arnolds Central School were present. MCA treasurer Linetta Rodrigues, cultural secretaries Jyothi Monteiro and Patrick M D'Souza, funds' raising member Immaculate Fernandes, Newsletter editor Harold Lobo, other office bearers and Newsletter co-editor Judith Menezes members were present.

Patrick D'Souza welcomed everyone. Vice president Pravin Pinto Bejai compered the programme. Secretary Edna Rodrigues proposed the vote of thanks.

Frank productions team performed the 74th show of Matharo Chorbela drama written by Francis Fernandes, Cascia who also acted out the main role in the drama. Joy Palladka was the director of the drama. Betty Naz has acted in dual roles in it. Peter Pais Basruru, Julie Vaz, Gregory Sequeira Niddodi, Flora D'Souza Kalmadi, Shanti Barboza Boliye, Peter Cutinho and Roishy Sequeira Pallada were the other artistes. The drama provided good entertainment to the audience.
