Mumbai, Dec 12: The sixteenth Yakshagana literary conference was held in Sion Geetha Govinda hall under the aegis of Yakshagana committee on Saturday December 10. Manohar Nayak, MD of Lingo India Private Limited, inaugurated the programme.

Chief host Yakshagana Bayalata Academy member Taranata Varkady said that the academy gets an amount of Rs one crore as subsidy. “However the funds get distributed among other Yakshagana groups,” he said.

Mumbai Yakshagana graduate committee president H B L Rao welcomed everyone. Apoorva R Surathkal, Jayalaxmi Devadiga and Dr Sahana Pothi performed Yakshagana. G S Nayak proposed the vote of thanks. Dr Jyothi Sathish compered the programme. Glimpses of various forms of Yakshagana were shown at the programme.
