Mangaluru: Nexa senior citizen treasure hunt, safety awareness held in city

Mangaluru, Dec 19: Nexa senior citizen treasure hunt and safety awareness programme was flagged off by Sanjay Rao, managing director of Mandovi Motors Pvt Ltd, Mangaluru near IGP''s office here on Sunday, December 18.

The special treasure hunt and awareness programme was jointly organized by Nexa and Mangaluru Motor Sport Association.

A route from commissioner’s office to Nexa showroom in Maryhill was assigned to the participants. The senior citizens traversed through the route enthusiastically looking for hidden treasures. 

Addressing the gathering DCP Sanjeev Patil said, "I believe being young at heart. Joe Gonsalves (chief traffic warden) is not only young at heart but he is also physically fit. He has a mindset to prove himself to be good at everything without age being a barrier. He is the one who brought traffic warden system into existence in the city which is running successfully for the past two years. I salute the energy of all of you gathered here. I congratulate all of you on your participation."

The first prize was won by RC Rodrigues and Wilma Rodrigues, second by Dheerajlal Banker and Bharath Lamani and the third by Sarojini Vasudevan and Sucheth Vasudevan.

Chief traffic warden Joe Gonsalves, Sudheer BK, Vinod D''Souza and Naveen Kumar were also present.
