Koppal : Raped by guardian ,15-year-old girl gets pregnant

Koppal, Feb 9 (News World) : A 15-year-old girl studying in class 7 of a local government school in Karnataka became pregnant after she was allegedly raped by her guardian over the past several months, police said.

Working as a labourer in the Basrikatte village of Koppal district in Karnataka, he and his blind wife Shanthamma took custody of the minor girl when her biological parents abandoned her.

“Krishnappa, who is a drunkard, allegedly assaulted and raped the victim on several occasions. He had also threatened the victim of serious consequences if she complained about it,” Times of India quoted a senior police official as saying.

After she became pregnant, villagers approached the police and investigations were launched.

“Krishnappa is a serial offender. He was earlier arrested for running an illegal slaughter house near his house,” the police official added.
