Udupi, Feb 9: A person named Parashuram (26), living with his family in a rented house owned by Ranganath Udupa at Bailoor here committed suicide on the night of Tuesday February 7. He was a native of Amalapur near Kugligi in Ballari district.

After Parashuram came home from work, his wife, Ashwini, is said to have asked him to pick up the small baby of the couple. Parashuram was not prepared to hold the baby, after which the couple quarreled with each other. Parashuram, who said he was very tired, entered the room and bolted the door from inside. Ashwini then raised an alarm.

The neighbours came to her rescue, saw that Parashuram had hanged himself, brought him down, and took him to hospital. However, Parashuram died on the way to hospital, said his brother, Basavaraja, in a complaint filed at the town police station here.
