Udupi : New microbiology unit, renovated lab inaugurated at Mission Hospital

Udupi, Feb 9: The new microbiology unit and renovated laboratory of the 94-year-old Lombard Memorial (Mission) Hospital was inaugurated by the bishop of Karnataka Southern Diocese Rev Mohan Manoraj on Thurday, February 9.

After the inauguration, bishop Mohan Manoraj congratulated the hospital management for all improvements in the hospital and hoped that this additional service benefits the people of Udupi. Speaking about the hospital, the bishop said, "This is a charitable hospital dedicated to serving the people of Udupi. I wish the hospital all success in its future endeavours and pray Gods blessings on all the staff who work in the hospital."





























Dr Sushil Jathanna, Director of LMH said, "The new microbiology department is fully equipped with the latest equipment and technology and will be headed by Dr Narayan Peralaya who has returned from the Middle East. The laboratory has been renovated and modernised, providing a state of the art facility. This modernisation will enable us to provide additional services in microbiology and biochemistry to our patients at very affordable rates. The laboratory and microbiology unit will be open round the clock. The department also comprises of experienced and well trained staff."

Dr R Shripathi, consultant physician at the hospital, was delighted with the newly renovated laboratory and the new microbiology department. He said, "The new service will definitely benefit the patients of the hospital. I request the public to get their tests done at Mission Hospital which provided services at very affordable costs."
 
Rev Ivaleen Amanna, Hospital Chaplain thanked all the Guests, patients and staff for attending the function.

    My heartiest congratulation to Lombard Memorial Mission Hospital. Udupi for the inauguration of the new microbiology unit. It was much need and will benefit not only the people in Udupi but also from other towns.
