Mangaluru Feb 11: Sri Vedamaayu Ayurveda Hospital will be organising a three-day free ayurveda consultation and check-up camp at their premises from February 11 to 13, informed Dr Keshavraj, ayurveda physician and partner at Sri Vedam Aayu Ayurveda Hospital.

Addressing mediapersons here on Saturday, Febrauary 11, he said, "Sri Vedamaayu Ayurveda Hospital has been serving patients from the past 7 years. We are holding a free health check up camp from February 11 to 13. Pulse reading, blood sugar test and diet counseling will be done free of cost these three days. We will even give medicines free of cost wherever possible. We are launching arogya cards for families as well. Any member of the family can use this card to avail treatment. There is a discount of 10 per cent in charges for those who have the card".

"We will be introducing more facilities for the benefit of our patients. Well-known Dr Suresh Negalaguli, former principal, Alva's Ayurveda Medical College, will attend patients along with me. We would be providing medicines as well as administering ayurvedic surgery procedures if required," he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Suresh said, "There are eight different departments in ayurveda. Generally, people think that ayurveda is all about herbs. There is external medication and surgeries in ayurveda. The tests are first done after which Pancha Karma procedure is followed. Only when external medication is not doing any help to the patients, we recommend surgery in the ayurvedic procedure. There are preconceived notions in people's mind about ayurveda which should be cleared. There are different medicines for different diseases for different patients".

Earlier in the day, the website of Sri Vedamaayu Ayurveda Hospital was launched by Raghuram, general manager of Karnataka bank. The hospital houses out-patient departments, drug store, specialised wards as well as a kitchen in the premises.

Shreedevi Keshavraj, Managing Partner, Sri Vedamaayu Ayurveda Hospital and Journalist Raymond D'Cunha were present.
