Brazilian right-back Macedo on Barcelona radar

Rio de Janeiro, Feb 14 (IANS): Brazilian football player Michel Macedo has been reportedly shortlisted by Barcelona to replace injured right-back Aleix Vidal for the rest of the season.

According to the ESPN Brazil news outlet, Barcelona coach Luis Enrique is keen to draft a player into Barcelona's squad for the rest of the season to fill the void left by Vidal.

Among those at the top of his wish-list is Macedo, who has impressed with Las Palmas this season after joining the Canary Islands club from Almeria.

Others being considered are Valencia's Joao Cancelo, Celta Vigo's Jonny Castro and Eibar's Ander Capa, the outlet said.

Vidal was ruled out for at least the next five months after dislocating his right ankle in Barcelona's 6-0 victory at Alaves in La Liga on Saturday, reports Xinhua news agency.
