Boca Juniors teammates apologise after training ground fight

Buenos Aires, Feb 15 (IANS): Boca Juniors teammates Juan Insaurralde and Jonathan Silva have issued a public apology after a training ground fight.

The pair had to be separated by other Boca players after they came to blows during a practice match on Monday, reports Xinhua news agency.

"I want to say sorry to Jony (Silva), my teammates, the coaching staff and the fans," Insaurralde told a news conference on Tuesday.

"What I did wasn't right. Things boiled over during a five-minute period. There is a good feeling in the team and this came out of nowhere. I can promise that it won't happen again."

Silva, sitting beside Insaurralde, said: "It was something that happened in the heat of the moment. It won't go any further than that. We can laugh about it now. Everything is great within the team. I want to say sorry to everyone."

Boca currently lead the Argentina Primera Division standings with 31 points, three ahead of second-placed Newell's Old Boys.
