Indians feel proud of Railway dept after Laluji became the Minister. Prior to him,we were fedup of hearing the losing Rail budget and price hike in each Budget. We must thank Lalu for NOT increasing railway fares all these years, though price hiked in every product.

He made lots of changes, developments, so Indians SHOULD be grateful to him. He should be a role model for all the corrupt politicians. Thk U Daiji for publishing the news on time.

Having traveled almost throughout the country between 1970 and 1985, with all the torrid experiences I have gone through like standing in long lines often for 8-10 hours just to purchase tickets, ‘grease the palm’ of ticket collectors just to get a seat or birth, and often traveling standing in jam packed dirty and stinking compartments all through day and night even for long distances (like Madras to Vizag!!!)., I must admit that Laluji’s railway budget in terms of travelers’ comfort, e-ticketing , upgrading comforts to travelers in each compartment, and now especially the special benefits to senior ladies and school students….all these speak volumes of the great job done with the financial turnaround achieved under his management.

No wonder all private airlines are now vying with each other with low cost flights to attract train passengers in many profitable routes. Security for Ladies and overall lack of security measures for long distance travelers to protect passengers from the likes of “biscuit thieves” perhaps needs to be emphasized by all divisional managers with the higher-ups of railways through their respective regional / zonal heads. If people of any particular region feel neglected, then they should present their case with whatever specific needs in a similar way.

Without making little noise nothing could be heard up the ladder. Last but not the least, I hope Laluji will take over management of Air travel ministry and I am sure he will be able to bring down the prices of Air Tickets, not only within India but also in the India - Gulf sector.

For Karnataka and DK to benifit we need to have George Fernandes in power, those Ex-MPs/ MLAs from DK/Udupi area who are now in Delhi 'high-command cirlces' and 'powerful' sadly have no intention of contributing to their hometowns.

Two senior citizens travelling together are NOT entitled to the senior citizens quota- they must travel seperately if they want to get the benefit of this quota= Lalu's theory of divide the cake. Konkan railway laid 760 kms of track from Roha to Thokurkurla to roha is about 130 kms and Thokur to Mangalore central is about 22 kms so the total distance is 912 kms but passengers are charged for 1186 kms= lalu's way of making money from the "aam admi".

I never travelled by Rail in my life. This budget has nothing to do with Coastal Karnataka. Lalu will never improve in this way. He will struggle in coming election for sure. My deep sympathies on this supportless BUDGET.
