Sullia: College student slips down coconut tree, loses life

Sullia, Mar 31: Abhilash K (20), a college student, who had suffered serious injuries after falling down from a coconut tree, died in a hospital on Wednesday March 29.

Abhilash was the son of Kembara Parameshwar Naik from Guthigar village near Subrahmanya.   When plucking coconuts from a tree in the plantation attached to his house on Sunday last, he had lost his balance and fallen down. He had suffered serious injuries to his skull region. He was rushed immediately to a private hospital at Mangaluru.

He did not respond well to treatment and lost his battle for life on Wednesday. The deceased was a second year degree (arts) of Kukke Sri Subrhamanyeshwara college. He is survived by parents, a brother and a sister. As a mark of respect for the deceased, the college management declared holiday on Thursday after paying tributes.
