Media ReleaseMangaluru, Apr 3: Fr William Gonsalves completed 60 years of his priesthood and celebrated the occasion by offering a mass at Milagres Church on April 2.
Thanking his parents for their blessings, he said, "I am witnessing this occasion only due to my parents. I am thankful to my family members also. I have tried my best to serve people in my 60 years of preisthood."Fr Wiliam was felicitated in a programme after the mass. Parish priest Fr Valerian D'Souza who honoured Fr William said, "We are blessed to have such a wonderful priest with us who served the community in three different roles. As a head master for school, as a parish priest at Our Lady of the Miracles Cathedral, Kallianpur and Milagres Church Mangalore and now as a resident priest here. He is a true devotee of Mother Mary. He spends hours in front of the holy sacrament praying for the parish and fellow priests. He spends many hours in confession."On behalf of parish community, parish parishad vice-president Ivan Dsouza honored Fr William with a flower bouquet. Assistant parish priest Fr Anil Lobo compered the program.

You have been a good priest and you have dedicated the very best towaards the will of God and towards tens of thousands of Christians that surrounded you for fifty glorious years.
