Yadagiri: Three farmers electrocuted when lifting old motor from tubewell

Yadagiri, Apr 13: Three farmers died on the spot after coming in contact with electricity which flowed through a pipe they were holding. The incident happened on Wednesday April 12 at Ukkinala village of Shahapur taluk in the district.

Farmers, Shantappa Rathod (45), Nagappa Talwar (50), and Daku Nayak (48) from Ukkinala died in the incident.

The three had joined hands in lifting an old borewell motor located in a field in the village, that had developed snags. When they were lifting the motor, the power cable above came in contact with the motor pipe,  which they were holding. They suffered electric shocks. In the meanwhile, the power cables got snapped and fell on them, resulting in their instant deaths.
