Mangaluru: Sporadic rainfall in coast brings down temperature

Mangaluru, May 2: A number of places in Dakshina Kannada district received good rain on Monday May 1 evening. The city however did not get any rain nor did it get any reprieve from scorching heat.

Beltangady taluk in particular experienced strong wind and rain. Villages like Indabettu, Bangadil Laila and Dharmasthala received rainfall. Subrahmanya in Sullia taluk got hailstorm along with strong breeze. Sullia got some rain while other parts of Dakshina Kannada district remained cloudy.

There were a few occasions where roads were blocked due to fallen trees including the main road at Kashibettu near Ujire. There are reports of sheets and tiles of some houses getting blown away because of strong wind.
