Mangaluru: Gang brutally attacks two youngsters returning from function

Mangaluru, May 9: A gang brutally attacked two young men who were returning after taking part in a Mehndi programme, with iron rods and liquor bottles. The incident happened on Sunday May 7.

In this incident, Ranjith Achary (24) and Henry (30) from Moodushedde were injured. Both were treated at a private hospital in the city.

The duo was returning after attending Mehndi function in a house at Yedurupadavu when a gang of five who came on three motor bikes, confronted them at Yedurupadavu junction. The attackers, identified as Diwakar, Prashant, Chittaranjan, Pavan and Gunda, who were known to the victims, hurled abuses at them and launched an assault with the help of iron rods and beer bottles held by them, it has been alleged.

Kavoor police have registered a case. Investigation is on. Accused persons are yet to be arrested.
