Bengaluru: Frustrated at failure, two SSLC girl students end lives

Bengaluru, May 13: Two girl students from the state killed themselves on Friday May 12, having been disappointed by their failures in SSLC examination. One of them belonged to Kodagapura in Gundlupet taluk while the other one was from Basavanagudi in Shivamogga.

Manasa, daughter of Kantarajappa, resident of Agathagowdanahalli in Kodagapura, who failed in four subjects, hanged herself at the home of her grandmother where she was on a visit. She was a student of Gangadhareshwara high school in Somanahalli. Her parents rushed to Kodapura after coming to know about the suicide. Gundlupet block education officer, C N Raju, visited Kodagapura and consoled the grieving parents.

Preethi, daughter of Ganesh from Basavanagudi second cross in Shivamogga city ended her life, having failed to clear SSLC examination. She tried to end her life. Her family rushed her to a private hospital but her life could not be saved. A case was registered in Jayanagara police station Shivamogga about this suicide.

    Take the example of Thomas ALVA Edison who invented a bulb despite being expelled from School. Sachin never completed his S.S.L.C ,BUT ACHIEVED GREAT HEIGHTS IN SPORTS. Graduating is not everything in life. Deeply saddened by suicide of these two young kids as they may be feeling pressure from parents. May their souls rest in peace.
