Google's 'Daydream View' VR headset now in India


New Delhi, Jun 12 (IANS): Google on Monday launched its "Daydream View" virtual reality (VR) headset and controller in India which will be available on Flipkart for Rs 6,499.

With "Daydream View," users can experience sports, live events and more in 360-degree panoramic view.

Google's Pixel and Pixel XL are the first Daydream-ready phones. The users can also experience 'Daydream' on Moto Z device and will soon be able to experience this on Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones.

"Our aim is to make the VR experience mobile so that customers can easily carry it anywhere with them. We at Google are also working with developers, smartphone companies, and content creators to make VR accessible to all," said Clay Bavor, Vice President of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality at Google, in a statement.

Daydream-ready phones are built with high-resolution displays, powerful mobile processors and high-fidelity sensors.

A big part of what makes "Daydream View" special is the controller.

The controller lets users interact with the virtual world the same way they interact with the real world around them.

Apps and games on "Daydream View" include NYT VR, Guardian VR, The Turning Forest, Labster: World of Science, Netflix VR, Google Play Movies, Within, Fantastic Beasts, The Arcslinger, Wonderglade, Mekorama VR, Gunjack 2: End of Shift, Need for Speed No Limits VR and LEGO BrickHeadz Builder VR.
