Bantwal, Jun 28: Zilla panchayat member Chandraprakash Shetty lodged a complaint with the Bantwal rural police station that malicious, libellous and false news detrimental to his reputation was found in social media.

He stated in the police complaint that miscreants spread objectionable and insulting content about him on Whatsapp. “The suspects have spread false news so as to cause disharmony in society and instigate communal tension. It is a conspiracy to create false impression about me. Therefore suitable action should be taken against those who are responsible for it,” stated his complaint.

Speaking to news reporters, he said that he was sad that some miscreants spread disgusting messages regarding Benjanapadav Ashraf murder on social media.

“Police have already arrested the suspects and are looking for the mastermind in the case. Meanwhile some are spreading false news for political gains. Police are informed with telephone numbers the details about them. I am urging the police to take action against them,” he said.
