Puttur, Jul 1: A mentally unsound youth who has been accused of hitting the head of his uncle with the back of a hoe's handle and causing his death, was remanded to judicial custody by a court here on the evening of Thursday June 29. I also ordered the concerned to provide him proper treatment for his psychological disorder.
The accused, identified as Thanu alias Ratan (25) had been produced in the court by policemen of Sampya station on Thursday evening. He faces the charge of killing his maternal uncle, M A Devayya (57) from Bettagiri in Karagunda village, Madikeri taluk, with whom he was very affectionate, when no one else was around. In tune with the court order, the police have admitted the youth into the government Wenlock Hospital at Mangaluru.
