Bengaluru: CJ recuses himself from Raghaveshwara Swamiji case

Bengaluru, Jul 1: A public interest litigation seeking directions to the state government to unseat Sri Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swamiji, head of Hosanagar Sri Ramachandrapur Math, came up for hearing before a division bench of the state high court headed by Chief Justice, S K Mukherjee, on Friday June 30.

The division bench also had Justice P S Dinesh Kumar as member.The division bench declined to consider the petition. The bench noted that serious allegation has been levelled against one of the members of the  bench about having prejudicial opinion about the defendants in the  case. Therefore, the bench declined to take up the petition and informed advocate for defendants that the case would now be heard by another division bench to which the petition would be transferred.
