Mangaluru, Jul 4: Prohibitory orders issued across four taluks of Dakshina Kannada ie Banwal, Sullia, Puttur and Beltangady, have been further extended from midnight on July 4 to midnight on July 11 as a precautionary measure. Deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, Dr K G Jagadeesh, issued these orders.

Prohibitory orders were initially enforced in Bantwal taluk with effect from May 27, due to unsavoury incident at Kalladka on May 26. The order has since been extended four times. Although there have been no fresh bouts of disturbances and the situation remains calm, the orders continue to be extended.

With this extension, Bantwal taluk will complete 46 continuous days of being covered by prohibitory orders till July 11.
