Udupi, Jul 4: The case pertaining to the murder of teacher, Bhoja Shetty from Seetanadi within the limits of Hebri police station stands adjourned to August 21. Shetty, who reportedly nursed rightist policies and provided information about naxals to police, was slain on May 15, 2008. Some naxal activists were accused of committing this heinous act.

The hearing had been posted in the court here on Monday July 3. Suspected naxals, Veeramani, Ramesh and Neelaguli Padmanabh are the accused in the case. Currently they are lodged in different jails.

When the case came up for hearing on Monday, the court was informed that the accused could not be produced on account of security and technical problems. Therefore it was adjourned to the next month.

Veeramani is currently in Coimbatore jail while Ramesh is in a prison at Bengaluru. Neelaguli Padmanabh, who has opted to join the mainstream by shunning naxal activities, is in Chikkamagaluru prison.

Other accused in the case, Chandrashekhar Nandakumar and Devendra from Koppal and Asha from Bhadravati had been exonerated from the case in 2016 for want of sufficient evidence.
