Puttur, Jul 6: After a lorry carrying laterite stones and a car got involved with head-on collision near Kaudichchar Junction in Ariyadka village in the taluk on Mani-Mysuru state highway on the evening of Wednesday July 5, four persons suffered serious injuries.

It is gathered that two of the injured were travelling to Mangaluru international airport to catch a flight to Dubai. Qasim (40), Harris (28), Ashfaque (40) and car driver, Arshad (27), all from Napoklu in Madikeri taluk,were injured in this accident. The accident occurred when the Suzuki Alto car moving towards Mangaluru hit a Swaraj Mazda truck moving towards Perigeri from Puttur. The front portion of the car was badly mangled in the accident.

All the four injured were provided with preliminary treatment in the town before being shifted to a private hospital at Mangaluru for sophisticated treatment. Among the injured, the condition of Qasim, Harris and Ashfaq is stated to be critical.  

Qasim and Harris were to travel to Dubai to resume their jobs there. The accident happened when they were travelling to Mangaluru to board their flight.
