Sullia: President of taluk photographers association ends life

Sullia, Jul 12: President of Sullia Taluk Photographers Association, Venu Balila (37), committed suicide on TuesdayJuly 12 by consuming poisonous substance. Venu is survived by mother, wife, and a daughter.

Reports said that Venu consumed an insecticide normally used for spraying in fields. The locals immediately took him to Bellare primary health centre and then to a hospital here. However, he could not be saved.

Venu was well-known in the region being an entrepreneur and photographer. He was actively involved with several organizations and institutions. He owned Deepa Studio at Kote Mundugaru here.

It is learnt that Venu's behavour was normal on Tuesday and he had called the office of a printer to enquire about the printing of invitation cards for the post-funeral rites of his father-in-law who had recently died. He also visited a cooperative institution and kept himself busy. Many in his friends circle believe that Venu would have taken this extreme step, having been overwhelmed by the burden of heavy debt he was faced with.
