Udupi, Jul 13: A woman from here died and four others suffered injuries, after a car in which they were travelling met with an accident near the polytechnic college of Thirthahalli on Sagar road in the outskirts of the town on Wednesday July 12. The victim happens to be Maharunnisa (55), resident of Santhekatte near here.
Rehan, Muzamin, Saifa Banu and Rizwan were injured in this accident, which happened after a lorry hit their car. All of them were provided preliminary treatment at the Thirthahalli hospital before being admitted into KMC Hospital Manipal. Out of the four, the injuries suffered by Rehan and Muzamin are said to be of grave nature.
All the five, who belong to a single family, were going in a car to Sagar for attending a marriage there on Wednesday. The accident occurred at around 9 am on Wednesday, and a case stands filed in Thirthahalli police station.
