Puttur: Young bike rider killed in road accident

Puttur, Jul 14: After a car and two-wheeler were involved in an accident at Nelyady in the taluk on Thursday, July 13, a young bike rider lost his life. The victim has been identified as Ayatollah (18), who was a construction worker.

Another person, Afzal Hussain, sustained grievous injuries in this accident.

Ayatollah was riding the motor bike with Afzal Hussain in the pillion towards Nelyady from Arla village, when a car which came from the opposite direction hit the two-wheeler head on near Bethany educational institutions at Nelyady. Ayatollah,who suffered serious injuries to his head and legs, was rushed to hospital but he died before reaching the hospital.

Afzal Hussain, who has been admitted into a private hospital at Mangaluru, is being treated there.

Locals suspect Ayatollah to be a citizen o West Bengal. His full details, address etc are not available as yet. Uppinangady police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
