Mangaluru, Dec 22: Member of Ullal municipal council, Ismail Podimonu, filed a complaint with Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday December 21, alleging that an attempt is being made to misuse fund of Rs 50 lac that was allotted by state finance commission (SFC) to Ullal municipality.

In the complaint, Ismail said that no mention was made about this grant of Rs 50 lac given by SFC at the meeting organized on October 30. He said that after the meeting concluded, this issue was added in the agenda and the entire amount was sanctioned to a single ward where works had been completed two years earlier. "In this irregularity, municipal president, Husain Kunhimonu, municipal commissioner, Vani V Alva and president of district urban planning cell, Prasanna, have been hand in glove," he has alleged in a complaint addressed to superintendent of ACB, N S Shruthi.

The issue came to the attention of others when it was raised at the general session convened on November 28 for approval of the same. Opposition had been expressed at the same meeting, but with the connivance of the officials of the urban planning cell, irregularities continue to happen. Therefore, investigation should be held and
the guilty should be acted against, he has demanded.

With the complaint, Podimonu has enclosed copies of the grants sanction, circular about usage of SFC grant and rules relating to proceedings in local bodies etc.
