Udupi: ACB catches Barkur village accountant red-handed

Udupi, Dec 24: Village accountant of Barkur in the taluk, identified as Raghavendra, was caught red-handed by staff of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) when accepting bribe.

It is said that Raghavendra had demanded Rs 15,000 for preparing the family tree of Rekha from Barkur. Rekha agreed to pay him Rs 8,000. She also made advance payment of Rs 4,000. As Raghavendra refused to provide her the said document. she approached Anti Corruption Bureau with the complaint. The accused had asked her to pay the balance amount on Saturday evening.

When the village accountant was accepting cash from the lady, ACB personnel conducted the raid and took the village accountant into custody. The raid was conducted by deputy superintendent of police, P Dinakar Shetty, Pavan, Inspector, Jayaram Gowda and Satish, besides some other personnel under the guidance of superintendent of police, Shruti.

    This happens in most of the Village Panchayat offices in India!!! Pay bribe to get the work done failing you will not get your required documents...

    These village accountants do not entertain you before having darshan of Gandhiji. Very patriotic, Gandhiji's darshan is must, for carrying out any task.
