Udupi, Dec 27: Block Congress SC wing staged a protest and condemned Ananth Kumar Hegde’s controversial statement on change in Constitution and BJP’s silence Danamma rape and murder case.

Addressing protestors, Block Congress president Sathish Amin Padukere said, “BJP party members themselves are involved in Danamma rape and murder case and hence they are silent regarding the same. Danamma is also a Hindu, but BJP is silent in her case. BJP is planning to keep aside the interests of lower class people; this is the main reason why they are talking about changing constitution.”

MP Shobha Karandlanje is trying her best to create communal disharmony in Honnavar, Kumta and Sirsi. BJP national president Amit Shah has instructed to create riots in Karnataka, so that they can emotionally blackmail people and capture their votes.”

Condemning MP Ananth Kumar Hegde’s statement regarding change in Constitution, he said, “Hegde is not eligible to be a minister. PM Narendra Modi should sack him at the earliest. If BJP comes to power for the second term, they will surely change the constitution,” he added.

Janardhan Tonse, CMC president Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje, Ganesh Nergi, Yathish Karkera, Amrith Shenoy, Ramesh Kanchan and Congress members took part in protest.
