Mangaluru: Bike accident - Infosys employee dies, rider injured

Mangaluru, Jan 5: One person died and other sustained injuries after their speeding bike lost control and rammed into a hostel on the right side of the road at Mudipu.

Bike rider Milind (22) sustained serious injuries while Infosys employee Shanmuganathan (24), son of Tamil Nadu resident Tan Selvam, died on the spot.

The accident took place in front of Deralakatte H N girl’s hostel in the wee hours on Thursday, January 4. Milind was staying in a rented house at Pumpwell and had come to Mudipu early morning to drop his friend when the incident took place.



As the bike hit the hostel compound wall, Shanmuganathan was tossed from the bike in the impact dying on the spot. The manager of the hostel took an injured Milind to nearby K S Hegde hospital.

A case was registered at Mangaluru south traffic police station.

Shanmuganathan was employed in Infosys for the last five years and was transferred to Chennai. January 4 was his last day at work in Infosys Mudipu office. He was supposed to go to Chennai on January 5.
