New Delhi: Cross- votes: BJP expels Eight MPs

New Delhi, Jul 23: Acting tough, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday expelled eight party Members of Parliament who cross-voted or abstained during the confidence motion in Lok Sabha on Tuesday.

At a press conference in New Delhi, senior leader L K Advai slammed the government, saying the trust vote win was 'tainted' .

The party also decided to launch a nationwide agitation against the United Progressive Alliance on 'corruption and degradation' of democratic values of the country.

BJP sources said the party cannot brook indiscipline in its ranks and decided to take extreme action against those MPs who violated the whip issued by the party to vote against the UPA government in the confidence motion.

"We were shocked that a number of MPs voted against the party directive," a senior leader, on condition of anonymity, told PTI.

The sources also refuted allegations raised by Bahujan Samaj party chief Mayawati that the National Democratic Alliance helped the government to sail through because they were opposed to Mayawati woman becoming Prime Minister.

Massive cross voting and abstentions from the Opposition, especially the NDA, helped the UPA score a comfortable victory in the confidence vote last night, belying all predictions of a close contest.

Main opposition BJP was the worst sufferer with six of its MPs voting in favour of the motion moved by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Sombhai Patel, Babubhai Katara and Brijbhushan Sharan Singh were among the BJP MPs who voted in favour of the government, while Haribhau Rathod was among the party MPs who abstained.

Three BJP MPs, who were having tea in the Parliament House canteen, did not go to the House to cast their votes when the division bell rang in the Parliament House.

Scratching the head now will not solve the problem. You should have scratched your head before the trust motion and should have supported the nuclear agreement, as you very well aware that it is in favour of India. The whole country would have loved your action (definitely not you). Being yourself a nikamma you have called an honest, humble, sincere and a personality, full of wisdom with that name. Even if the people of India forgive you, God will never.

Advaniji why to blame your party members? Blame yourself for acting with devil power for your own benefit. Even if you change your astrologer, it is no use for you. It is said "Is it possible to straighten dogs tail even it is put in a Pipe?" This is your nature, always crooked in dealing, holding the holy book in your palm and accommodating devil in the arm pit.. Be honest in every dealing.

If any party/government involved in cash-for-vote scam, then it should be disqualified and banned. It looks funny to see comments form people saying the allegation could not be true (the way they are bashing BJP). At the same time they say politicians are the worst corrupt people. Is it not time for people to come out of  biased thoughts and see the events in transparent manner?

It is a shame that BJP couldn't unite them selves. It is a shame also that they have no revolutionary programmes like to remoderanise the Education system, They never tried to develop the solar power ie to produce roof class sheet to get as much as electricty free from sun even no line posts are required. They never said to scrap the court application duty to be paid at the window rather than on the ASHTAM, which is the British system to please some one.

Their programmes are the same what others are talking. India needs utmost revolution in every fields. Education by computer no books or note books are required. Subject channels to be launched to educate the people rather than the Films to spoil the Bhartiya Sanskritie. Name of the nation to be changed only as Bharat and the language to be called Bharti.

Yes, Advani, these six MPs are true Veer Puttars of Bharat Mata who saved a worse than 9/11 attack on the sacredness of India's Democracy by the Dash-Drohis like the rotten Carrot(karat), Mayas,Gowdas and yourself included.

You cry that Afzal & Co attacked the parliament building., but now you and your men attacked the very institute of parliament - and if you have the guts, then prove it by expelling those who flashed the money inside the parliament building. They are DeshDrohis and not the above honest Eight.

Approprate action against those revolted against party wishes. Poor MP's just lose, 6 - 9 months, but most of them contest next election on other party tickets, by that time everything expected to be forgotten and forgiven by the electorate.
