Mangalore: After Bangalore Blasts, Police Tighten Security in City

Mangalore, Jul 25: Police security has been strengthened in the city in the wake of serial blasts in Bangalore in the afternoon on Friday, July 25. Police forces have been deployed in major shopping malls and bus stands besides an increase in the number of mobile patrols in and around the city. 


Police personnel are visible on busy streets and nearby bus shelters with Hoysala squads patrolling the area. Speaking to media persons, Satheesh Kumar, superintendent of police, said that a total of three teams have been formed and sent to different locations across  the city to look after the security. 











Railway station and bus stands have already been checked with sniffer dogs by the police department soon after news of the blasts was relayed, he said. All vehicles will be checked to prevent the movement of anti-social elements in the state. Doubtful persons and things will be screened in the city, the superintendent added.


Meanwhile, Oscar Fernandes, union minister of state for labour and employment, who is touring Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, told media persons that he is in touch with union home minister Shivraj Patil regarding the serial bomb blasts that occurred in the state capital. Discussions will be held regarding the center’s help to the state in combating terrorist activities, he assured.

Fernandes cancelled all his scheduled programmes in the districts and rushed to Bangalore on Friday evening.

    It is an unfortunate incident, all forms terrorism should be condemned and real culprit should be punished. One after another attack is an attempt to destabilize our solid fabric of co-existence and threat to our national integrity, economic growth. Another irony is that whenever any political turmoil taking place in our country, we can hear a blast or attack in some corner of our country. Who is behind this?. Result of these tragic incidnet is that, innocent citizens lost their loved ones and simultaneously innocent people targeted and put behind the bars.

    Karnataka State Police Department is very intelligent. State officials should target youngsters or others belongs to any community without any 2nd thought and they have to screw them and these things should not happen again.

    The fever of suicide bomb attacks is coming close to our city. The local officers and politicians should take proper long run security measures and the local people should cooperate to combat terrorism in the region with immediate effect. Otherwise, Mangalore will be a victim of succide bomb attacks in a very near future.
