Kasargod: Inter-state chain snatcher nabbed, gold chain recovered

Kasargod, Feb 3: Ullal station police inspector Gopikrishna K R, sub-inspector Gurappa Kanthi and staff on definite clue arrested suspected inter-state chain snatcher Abdul Harris (29), resident of Nayimarmoole, Anangoor.

A gold chain worth Rs 60,000 robbed by him was recovered.

The suspect had snatched chain from Dony Norbert Fernandes, resident of Panemangalore, Bantwal on January 12, 2018 when he had arrived in Someshwar beach with his girlfriend. The suspect had fled soon afterwards. The suspect was produced in the court and was sent on judicial custody for fifteen days.

Police inspector Gopikrishna K R has taken up investigations. Police sub-inspector Gurappa Kanthi, ASI Vijayaraj and staff Jayaprakash, Basavaraj, Prashanth, Chidanand, Suresh and Vasudev cooperated in the arrest.

Youths consuming drugs arrested

Ullal station police inspector Gopikrishna and his team also arrested Mohammed Iqbal (29) resident of Ombathukere, Ullal, Mohammed Suhail (21), resident of Halekote, Ullal and Mohammed Shakir (23), resident of Soorinje, Surathkal for consumption of drugs and anti-social activities near Thokkottu railway tracks on February 2.

In yet another such operation, Konaje police inspector Ashok P, PSI Ravi Peeru Pawar, staff and anti rowdy squad arrested Munavar alias Muneer, resident of K C Road junction, Mohammed Shukoor resident of Santhosh Nagar second cross road, Kuttar, Mohammed Afwan resident near Juma masjid Ullal, Savad, resident of Rajagudde Harekal and Sadakathulla, resident of Hilariya Nagar for ganja consumption. Investigation is in progress.
