Mangaluru: Youth dies in car-motor bike accident at Nandigudde

Mangaluru, Feb 5: A youth was killed in an accident which happened near Koragajja Gudi in Nandigudde, Attavar here, on the night of Saturday February 3.

The deceased has been identified as Muhammed Sahib Shaffi (31), son of late Aziz, resident of Chere Pandelu, Bunder in the city. He was a trustee of Yatim Khana.

At around 7 pm on Saturday, Shaffi was moving towards Nandigudde from Marnamikatte on his motor bike when a car which overtook his vehicle near Koti Chennaya Circle brushed against the handlebar of the motor bike from the side. Shaffi, who was riding the bike, lost control over the vehicle as a result of which a car coming from the opposite direction hit his motor bike.

Muhammed fell onto the road and suffered serious injuries to his head. He was admitted into a private hospital where he breathed his last at 11.30 pm.

The car which hit his vehicle fled from the scene. A case stands registered at traffic (east) police station and investigation has been taken up.
