Sullia: Lok Sabha deputy speaker, Thambidurai, offers 'Ashlesha Bali' at Subrahmanya temple

Sullia, Mar 1: Deputy speaker of Lok Sabha, Munisamy Thambidurai, visited temple town, Subrahmanya in the taluk on Wednesday February 28. He offered 'Ashlesha Bali' and 'Maha Puja' services to the presiding deity of Subrahmanya temple.

On his arrival at the temple, the visiting dignitary was received by temple executive officer, M H Raveendra and protocol officer, K M Gopinathan Nambeesh. Priest of the temple, Madhusudan Kalluraya, performed religious rituals connected with the services offered by Thambidurai. He paid obeisance to Lord Subrahmanya and witnessed the afternoon Mahapuja. Priest, Ramesh Noorithaya, draped a shawl around Thambidurai, presented the prasadam and invoked blessings of the Lord.

The Lok Sabha deputy speaker met Sri Vidyaprasannateertha Swamiji on the occasion and spoke to him. The Swamiji honoured him by draping a shawl and offering blessed fruit and rice. Puttur assistant commissioner, Krishnamurty and tahsildar of this taluk, Kunhamma, were present.
