New Delhi: Kashmir Issue - BJP says Nehru was Wrong

New Delhi, Aug 20: The BJP squarely blamed the Congress-led UPA government on Tuesday for the mess in Jammu and Kashmir. It claimed the trouble in the region was a byproduct of UPA policies.

Party leaders see the current developments as worrying and proof that Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s vision for J&K — one law, one constitution and on a par with rest of India — was correct and the Nehruvian policy granting special status and a separate constitution was flawed.

“This is an ideological battle which we cannot lose because the present situation is a natural corollary of Nehruvian thinking,” BJP general secretary Arun Jaitley said.

Taking the point further, a BJP leader said although the Nehruvian theory had “collapsed”, there was a likelihood that there would be voices such as “So what? Give up Kashmir”. He mentioned some recent articles by Arundhati Roy and Vir Sanghvi suggesting this.

Accusing the UPA government, “which has failed to see beyond its vote-bank politics”, BJP president Rajnath Singh said it acted in a way that created a situation which led to a big communal divide in J&K and now the agitation over the issue has reached a point where it could easily spread to other parts of the country.

There is need of taking a stern step against the Pakistani militants rather than mere warning them. If we dont react in this stage atleast, we dont have to wait longer for another poonch war.

We all see today no Govt. wants to take a initiative to solve Kashmir Issue. Its simple, just silence or throw them on to the other side of LOC. Look at how China acted on those who raised voice aginst Tibet. Those wants to go to Murzafarabad let them go and not return back.

There is truth in Royston's statement. However in our own interest, instead of blaming, we need to act as opined by Mr. Alfred. Need of the hour is our Sovereignty and this is not the time to debate, but to act together, sending stern signal to all those who are waiting to break India, that we Indians are one and united.

It’s not a bad idea we GRACEFULLY agree to send, whoever wishes to go to Muzafarabad, BEARING THEIR ALL TRAVEL EXPENSE, PASSPORT TO PAKISTAN, to avoid repeat of history of 1947. People who feel they are discriminated, oppressed, suppressed, exploited, freedom less in India, may be happier at their dream land, Pakistan.

We always blame others for any debacle rather trying to solve it. Consider Nehru was wrong, it means we can not solve it for ever. For me, If we have the will to solve we can solve any problem. Ever since Nehru, many poiticians came & gone why they did not try to solve it. Perhaps these politicians kept it pending so they can blame each other during election time. They need some topic to talk about during elections.

There were many Governments came & gone and why no one tried to solve it. For me, if anybody asks me how to solve, I would say 'Shoot on sight' to those trouble makers who do not listen because they are nuissance to the society as well as peace. However, Kashmir was, is and will remain an intergral part of India, whoever and however they try. Indian government is showing lot of tolerence to those who talk against India being Indians and living in India, but if any Pakistani talks against Pakistan, they are eliminated immediately.

Its time India Stopped doing a China in Kashmir and behave as an democratic society should. Its time the future of Kashmir was left to the residents of Kashmir. We have had one soldier for every 3 Kashmiri's stationed there for over 50 years now.

I fully agree with this 100 % , it is the Nehruvian policies and Congress debacles and Vote bank policies that India after 60 plus years of Independence is a corrupt state full of chaos and religious divide
