Mangaluru: MRPL recognized with silver medal by IRIM

Media Release

Mangaluru, Mar 24: MRPL has been recognized with a silver medal by International Research Institute for Manufacturing (IRIM) for the year 2017.

The award was received by Sanjay Varma, group general manager (HSE & ISO) and U V Aithal, general manager (HSE & ISO) at a glittering ceremony in Chennai recently. This recognition is a testament to MRPL’s work towards saving the environment by adopting green manufacturing practices.

Environment and sustainability are important aspects of MRPL’s strategic priorities. MRPL recognize that increased focus on sustainability will create positive value for the company, especially in the light of a wider global transition towards clean energy and more stringent environment standards. MRPL has made rapid progress in improving sustainability factors associated with its manufacturing facility. This emphasises MRPL’s commitment to green manufacturing. Hence as a measuring yardstick in comparison to other industries, for the first time, MRPL has subjected itself to a detailed ‘Priority Adapt onsite assessment survey’ as a part of India Green Manufacturing Challenge (IGMC) for the year 2017 organised by the International Research Institute for Manufacturing (IRIM), a platform designed to recognize manufacturing firms that have shown consistent progress in improving sustainability factors associated to a manufacturing facility.

It is a matter of great pride for MRPL that it has been recognized for its efforts with the silver medal for the year.
