Note ban idea gone wrong? - Labourers become victims of fake notes

Daijiworld Media Network – Koppal (DC)

Koppal, Mar 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the withdrawal of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denomination old notes and the introduction of Rs 2,000 notes to weed out black money and fake currency notes on November 8, 2016. But it did not take long for counterfeit notes of Rs 2000 denomination to start circulating.

The same move of banning high-value notes and to fight counterfeit notes seems to have gone wrong as fake notes of Rs 2000 denomination are found to be circulated among daily wage workers in Koppal district.

The common man had already started to feel the pinch ahead of upcoming assembly polls in Karnataka as most of the ATMs have gone empty. Now the circulation of fake notes has further caused inconvenience to the public.

In Gangavathi, a resident of 22nd ward paid salary to construction workers where they found a fake note of Rs 2000.

The locals grew suspicious and found out that the note was indeed a fake one. They also said that the forgers have managed to copy most of the features except the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi.

There has been several incidents of law-enforcement agencies seizing bundles of counterfeit notes especially Rs 2000 denomination notes across India. In 2016, in just 53 days between November 8 and December 31, demonetization itself a total of 2,272 fake notes of Rs 2000 denomination were seized.

After the ban of Old High Denomination (OHD) currency notes on 8 Nov, 2016, there are widespread allegations of leakage of this news much before it was announced. If the allegations are correct, it presents a clear case of front running based on the insider information to make easy money from this move.
Lot of people have lost money overnight while some have made money post this decision. Anyone who had prior information of this would surely be on the profiteering side. Hence we will have to analyse set of people who are making money by this decision to separate out people who had no prior information of this and second set of people who had insider information with them.

They are the agents (with or without prior information) who will ultimately earn huge profit by depositing it in the banks for full value.
There was an income declaration scheme under which Rs. 65000 crore of black money was deposited/declared by black money hoarders in September. Hence, the current year withdrawal of Rs. 2.56 lacs crore was a net cash withdrawal figure after a deposit of Rs. 65000 crore under income declaration scheme. Adjusting for this, there was a cash withdrawal of Rs. 3.21 Lacs crore this year versus Rs. 1.16 lacs crore average in last 5 years. Hence, currency withdrawals this year were a whooping 2.05 lacs crore higher than the usual number.
Assuming that if this fake cash in hand accounting position is deposited back by scamsters by purchasing the old notes at 30% discount, this would mean a Rs. 60000 crore benefit for the fraudsters involved in this front-running.
PM Modi’s currency ban is a Rs 60,000 crores scam. One can scroll to AAP website, it has in detailed explained.
This is the very reason PMO and RBI are rejecting all the RTI queries with weird reasons.
PM Modi has failed to keep his 50 days promise to correct the mess. But countries poor are still suffering. This one reported by the media is one such out of millions.

Congress built our country. When the British exits from our country, our country was like a sugarcane waste, which the Britishers were enjoyed the juice and rest was given to us. The congress leaders did an extraordinary job like Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, BR Ambedkar. They gave India a fighting chance by determining territorial integrity, uniting the country, resettling refugees, working out an egalitarian Constitution, setting economic growth in process and then conducting the first general election.

Nehru’s administration pushed for planned economic and agrarian growth, public sector spending, setting up of steel and power plants, establishing Indian Institutes of Technology and Indian Institutes of Management, among other measures. The next governments encouraged space exploration and put the country on the nuclear path – boldly for a new and struggling nation.

Below numbers tell the story of the past 70 years :-

Increasing life expectancy: 32 was in the year of 1947 and 66.9 was in the year of 2011

    Infant Mortality rate : 146 per 1000 live birth (1947) and 42 per 1000 live birth (2011)

Increase in Food Production: 52 Million tonne in (1951) and it reached 264.4 million tonne in (2011)

Expansion of the economy : 2.79 Lakh crore in 1950-51 and 52 lakh crore in 2011-12

Average per capita income of Indians Rs. 247 in 1947-48 and Rs. 64,316 in 2011-12

Literacy rate : 16% of population in 1951and it increased 74% in the year of 2011

Number of cities more than one million people : 5 cities in 1947 and it increased up to 53 cities in year of 2011
There are still miles to go, but the above figures of development show that India has undeniably come a long way since 1947. The country’s relative progress is not a fake.

    Yes Congress did nothing???

Everything that Modi led BJP govt done which is on its own was all crap and the most idiotic things. Demonetization, Re-negotiation of Rafael Deal to name two which they done all by themselves.

The other things what they done and gone wrong is Aadhar, GST, etc., where the implementation they pushed for so much wrong that, today everything lost its objectivity.

There is a price to be paid by the voters in believing Modi led BJP govt., shall do good for Indians. No, it has not happened and what actually is go happen is more bad in coming days.

The one thing that is gone right for Modi led BJP govt., is only for itself. Spend crores of money for self-publicity and tweak news to say they are doing everything right. The trust factor of voters which Modi carries still despite all his failures is absolutely astonishing and mind blowing.

Demonetisation of 500 and 1000 notes was good. Its implementation was poorly managed.Had there been clear operative rules for bankers implementation would have been very successgul...Loopholes in post Demonetisation enabled unscrupulous bankers to spoil the game.
Introduction if RS. 2000 notes was not correct.1000 new notes should have thought of...RS.2000 notes are not helpful for common man. Most of 2000 notes already went out if circulation by black marketeers...
