Dharwad, Apr 9: In a gruesome accident which happened at Murakatti Cross in the taluk on Sunday April 8, four persons including a five-year-old perished on the spot, while five others suffered serious injuries.
A Chevrolet Tavera vehicle carrying pilgrims to Hazarat Shakkar Muddin Dargah in Sadashivgad in Uttara Kannada district from the city and a bus of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation were involved with this accident. The car driver and three members of a single family died on the spot in this accident.
The deceased have been identified as Imran, his wife, Afreen, younger daughter of the couple, Ayesha, and the driver of the vehicle. They were residents of Kanti Lane in the city. The injured stand admitted into SDM Medical College Hospital here.
Elder daughter of Imran and Afreen, eight-year-old Altiya, was admitted into hospital with serious injuries.
