Udupi, Apr 12: Kaup municipality chief officer, Rayappa, is transferred. It is gathered that this was done at the behest of the election commission.
After orders transferring him to Moodbidri municipality were received on Wednesday April 11 afternoon, he was relieved immediately. The orders said that he would be discharging duty as chief officer of Moodbidri municipality until further orders. Rayappa , who was on duty at Kaup on Wednesday, went to Moodbidri the same afternoon and took over charge.
His transfer however, has come as a dampener for the people of Kaup who had high hopes from him. After he took over charge in Kaup, there had been marked improvement in the working of the municipality in almost all segments including waste handling. An opinion is emerging among the people that he should be brought back here.
