Bantwal: Release of water into Thumbe dam - people warned

Bantwal, May 8: Under instructions from the deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, water stored in AMR dam at Shambhur is being released on Tuesday May 8 to the vented dam at Thumbe. This is being done to augment water supply to Mangaluru city and surrounding areas.

A release from AMR Company has warned people living on either side of River Netravati downstream AMR Dam to take care of themselves and take steps to protect their domestic animals during the period of inflow of water into Thumbe dam.
