Mangaluru, May 8: BJP national president, Amit Shah, will be taking part in road shows today in Dakshina Kannada district, to canvass for votes for the BJP candidates.

After his arrival at the airport here at 12.45 pm, Shah will take time off till 2.15 for lunch and rest. Thereafter, till evening, he will take part in the road shows in city (south) constituency at 3.45 pm, city (north) constituency at 4.45 pm, and Mangaluru constituency thereafter. Sources said that after the road shows, he will be holding consultations with party leaders on the ways and means to give leading edge to the campaign in the final stages of the election campaign.

While Shah's current visit relating to assembly election and participation in public meetings is his second in the district, his road show will be the first in the district. He had taken part in a series of programmes between February 19 and 21 relating to the assembly election. The current visit by Shah has come close on the heels of the visit by Prime Minister.

Political analysts treat this attempt of Shah as a final onslaught before the campaigning ends on May 10. His presence and advice is expected to buoy the spits of BJP activists and leaders alike further.
