Byndoor, May 10: A motor bike rider lost his life after a car knocked him down on Wednesday May 9 morning. This accident happened opposite Hotel Arya near Nandanavana bus stand at Naikanakatte in the taluk.
The identity of the victim has been given as Satyanarayan. Pillion rider, Kashinath, who sustained grave injuries, is being treated in a hospital here. It is said that the motor bike, which was moving towards Kundapur from the direction of Uppunda, was hit by a car that came from behind, when trying to overtake it.
Both the men on the bike fell onto the road due to the impact of the collision. Satyanarayan, whose nature of injuries was serious, breathed his last on the spot. A case about the accident was registered at the town police station here.
