Udupi, May 10: More than 50 activists who were earlier supporting BJP and the JD(S) joined Congress under the leadership of district Congress vice president Prakhyat Shetty on Wednesday May 9.
They were led by Anoop Shetty Belkale who was JD(S) District Youth Wing’s Vice-president, Guruprasad Shetty and Raghava Shetty Payyar who was with BJP Youth wing. The activists were welcomed by Congress Udupi Constituency’s candidate Pramod Madhwaraj who handed them the party flag.
Pramod who addressed the activists, appreciated their faith in the party and promised to respect and treat them well. “Congress shall come back to power in this election too,” he expressed confidence.
District Congress vice president Prakhyat Shetty, Congress leader Gopal Krishna Shetty, Prathviraj Shetty, Dhananjay Kundar, Shashikant, Suresh Kumar, Suraj, Prakash Acharya, Dinesh Poojary and others were present.
